Frequently blog about climate change solutions and share relevant resources as well as tips for the Marketing & Communications Committee.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Support our Marketing & Communications Committee by designing images for our website, newsletter, and social channels.
SOCIAL MEDIA TAKEOVER
Engagement with specific audiences will increase awareness about all the themes tied into climate change solutions. Perhaps you would serve as the committed liaison and select chapter members to help them go live/takeover. Pick a topic, set time and day, submit proposal in the Social Media Posts & Events submission google form, prepare "flyers" about event, arrange for access to the chapter's channel, and focus on your activity during the takeover. This may include doing lives, responding to comments, tagging other accounts, and sharing your topic through posts and stories. Channels include Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and the chapter's website. Time commitment flexible as little as 1 hour/month or more. Quantity of 1 person to serve this role for the Marketing & Communications Committee.
COPYWRITER
Often we gather info quickly in English and simplify in 150 characters for social media text description. However further editing work would shine the chapter's voice. Read received submissions from social media posts & events submission google form. Rewrite in English as needed and count the characters for social media. Time commitment flexible as little as 30 minutes at 3 times a week or more. Quantity of 4 people to unlimited number of people for the Marketing & Communications Committee.
COOL BLOCK LEADER (update: ongoing enrollment)
Are you interested in being part of building resiliency in the City of Los Angeles? Cool Block leaders lead their neighborhood or apartment complex through a 5-month program. The program provides a book which leaders use to guide their neighbors' activities. Each chapter of the book covers emergency preparedness, water conservation, energy efficiency, or waste reduction, and has a menu of items each individual can choose from to work on. Expand the Cool Blocks network, which aims to get LA to be carbon neutral without offsets by 2030. Please reach out to Climate Reality LA chapter leadership and they will connect you to the program.

Sign petition through the Climate Curricula Committee to show the need for LAUSD to take on the Climate Curricula Resolution.
LETTER OF SUPPORT WRITER
Submit your letter of support for the Climate Curricula Resolution to your district representative where there is a Los Angeles Unified School District presence.
BOOK CLUB HOST
Hold a monthly book club meeting where there would be opportunities to hear the author speak as well on topics relevant to climate change solutions.
PRESENTER
Join the Los Angeles-Climate Business Working Group (LA-CBWG) presentation team to start on October 2, 2021 a series of presentations with the Los Angeles Clean Tech Incubator (LACI) and its Founders Business Accelerator (FBA) program. This act of leadership opportunity is open for anyone from any Climate Reality Project chapter to join. Sign up for one of these sections to present on (i.g. Climate Science, Health Impacts, Environmental Justice, Social Impacts, Sustainable Business Models, Impact Investing, Storytelling and Messaging). Show up to be paired with a buddy and discuss availability as well as presentation strategy. Slide decks are already prepared. Sign ups are ongoing until full, so be sure to enquire as soon as possible.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
San Fernando Valley Chapter asked for our help to create a media list. Los Angeles chapter would divide the work and conquer. Come up with contacts of bloggers, podcasts, influencers, journalists, reporters, tv interviewers, radio hosts. Put into a list. Existing or new relationships with these contacts apply. Time commitment flexible with as little as 2 hours/month or more. Quantity of four people to serve this role for the Marketing & Communications Committee.
LIVESTREAM INTERVIEWER
Engagement with specific audiences will increase awareness about all the themes tied into climate change solutions. Pick a topic, find someone to interview with, set time and day, submit proposal in the Chapter Channels Submission Form, prepare “flyers” about event, arrange for access to the chapter’s channel, and conduct the interview. Channels include Facebook Live, Instagram Live, Zoom livestream to either Facebook or Youtube. Time commitment flexible with as little as 2 hours/month or more. Quantity of 1-2 people to serve this role for the Marketing & Communications Committee.
