Climate-related jobs are plentiful and diverse so it can be hard to know where to start.

Green Jobs Boards & Information Resources

Internship, Fellowship & Mentorship Opportunities

  • The California Conservation Corps is a program provides young adults 18 – 25 years old a year of paid service to the State of California. During their year of service, Corps members work on environmental projects and respond to natural and man-made disasters. Through this work, they gain skills and experience that lead to meaningful careers.

  • The California Climate Action Corps leverages AmeriCorps to advance climate actions. They feature an 11 month program from September through August. Participants must be 18 years of age and have an Associates degree or equivalent.

  • The California Youth Climate Policy Program empowers ninth- to twelfth-grade students to take climate action into their own hands.  During the program, students participate in a summer retreat (August).

  • The Carbonauts organizes networking events for people working (or aspiring to work) in climate.

  • Climate People are recruiters who help people land jobs in climate tech. They offer trainings for job seekers, a focused job board, and a newsletter. Their four-part Climate Transitions Workshop recordings are available on YouTube: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4.

  • The Environmental Defense Fund offers internships and fellowships for students and recent graduates in a variety of programs and departments.

  • Terra.do offers trainings, fellowships, a job board, and other resources for people interested in working in climate.

  • US Green Buildings Council (USGBC) Green Building Corps (GBC) Is a structured internship initiative that offers participants a valuable chance to gain practical experience, forge connections, and actively contribute to green building projects.

Eugenie Lewis, Chair, Climate Solutions Careers

Eugenie Lewis

Eugenie Lewis makes it her mission to support youth and people of all ages to have a good life – filled with hope and optimism through cross-generational work around climate change.

Eugenie’s professional work has focused on integrative physical and mental health services, school social work and positive youth development. In 2019, she started a company called Creative Life Mapping with the goal of providing career, education, self-discovery, growth and wellness services. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, career and college counselor, and serves as a youth mental health advocate with the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health.
