SUMMARY
Andrew Ellis, with The Climate Reality Project, will discuss his team's work with the LA Cleantech Incubator over the last winter and spring to help businesses reduce their environmental impact while advocating for social and environmental justice. He will talk about the resources and tools they use to empower businesses to address their impact on climate change, with a keen sense of profitability and a goal of building a better future for LA.

Drawing from work during winter 2020 and spring 2021 with the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator - Founders Business Accelerator (LACI-FBA) program, Andrew will give an overview of the partnership between the LA Chapter of The Climate Reality Project and LACI-FBA program. Climate leaders from the LA Chapter structured a series of three presentations for both the Winter and Spring cohorts that provided LACI-FBA participants with tangible methods, resources, tools, and assessments. These one-on-one meetings allowed small businesses to adapt their business models and reduce their environmental impact and cost of doing business while advocating for social and environmental justice. Andrew will present the tools and resources they use to empower businesses to address their impact on climate change, with a keen eye on profitability - always with the overarching goal of building a better future for Los Angeles area communities. These tools and resources will be made freely available to all. The work of the LA Chapter of Climate Reality with LACI was done by a team of over 20 experienced cultural leaders, organizers, scientists, engineers, analysts, and business owners. Elements of their LACI presentations included climate science, health impacts, environmental justice, corporate social impacts, sustainable business practices and impact investing.
