SPONSORED BY THE SIERRA CLUB. People who live near a port, a freeway, a freight rail yard or a warehouse district get hit daily by toxic diesel pollution from trucks and are more likely to suffer from lung and heart disease and shortened lifespan.
"At 16 years old, I know more people who suffer from asthma beyond what's normal. My younger sister has attacks constantly and it's the scariest when we take her to the hospital hoping she will be okay.
I don't want to continue towards a future full of smoggy air -- we must see solutions away from fossil fuels that pollute and cause smog. Zero emissions in our trucks can help reduce air pollution and bring new green jobs to our communities." -Cindy, Perris, CA.
For the last two years, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has been preparing the Advanced Clean Trucks Rule to get more electric trucks on the road. Electric trucks have zero direct tailpipe emissions, cost less to maintain, and are more efficient than their diesel or methane gas counterparts.
You can help make sure CARB finalizes the rule without delay. RSVP for the Zero-Emissions Community Talk to learn more and can get involved. CLICK HERE TO RSVP.
