LA Climate Reality Chapter Event @ Lawn to Habitat

  • 3604 Westwood Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90034 United States (map)

Please join us for a special LA Climate Reality in-person event during the Lawn-to-Habitat volunteer event.

LA Climate Reality, the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance, and partners are organizing a two-day “Lawn-to-Habitat” volunteer and learning opportunity to transform a water-hungry, monoculture grass lawn on a multifamily property into a biodiverse habitat zone that captures rainwater, reintroduces threatened native plants to the neighborhood, and supports pollinators and the web of life in our local ecosystem over the course of two days.

Volunteers will have an opportunity to learn about reconditioning compacted soil, creating eco-friendly weed barriers, determining soil type, mulching, planting techniques and establishment care for California native plants, water capture design options, and much more.

On Sunday, March 9, at noon, LA Climate Reality members will gather for a chapter meeting on the site, plus volunteering for those available to stay after.

Street parking is free but limited. Public transit information to come.

You are encouraged to wear your Climate Reality t-shirt and/or green pin to this event.
