Kick gas to the curb and out of your home. Register here
The Sierra Club Angeles Chapter is ecstatic to host an event for LA’s first Climate week to bring awareness to the poor air quality crisis in our region. For far too long, we have allowed the fossil fuels industry to keep us in a chokehold. The Los Angeles Basin suffers from some of the nation's worst air quality. Luckily, there is work being done to reduce our emissions to combat climate change and we are thrilled to share space with you to bring awareness about the pollution problem in our homes.
We are bringing an electric energy to the discussion around electrification and debunking myths.
Wondering what is building electrification? How does it affect and benefit me? What is currently being done to address the transition from gas-fired appliances to zero-emission? What can I do to take action and be a part of the solution? Have climate-anxiety?
Glad you asked! These are just some of the questions we will be addressing during our event.
The Sierra Club along with other organizations in the region have been working hard to advance policies to clean up the air in our buildings and homes. Phew. Thats good news! But we need you in our movement. To educate your loved ones, neighbors and mobilize with us for Clean Air, Healthy Homes, Resilient Communities, and Justice. No one deserves to breathe polluted air in their homes. We need to move away from the narrative that access to clean, electric appliances is a luxury. Just like we have the right to clean water, you have the right to clean air in your home.
We look forward to seeing you Sunday September 8th at one of LA’s beautiful hidden gems, the Audubon Center at Debs Park. We invite you to be a part of the conversation, learn more about how you can be a clean air advocate for your community and support local building electrification efforts for a just transition.
