Webinar: Unpacking the promise of the Passive House Standard

Climate Action California is hosting a webinar on June 20 titled Passive House: What is it and why is it important?

Join this presentation to learn out about the Passive House Standard (PHS) — the top-tier standard for energy-smart and climate-resilient buildings.

Buildings constructed according to the PHS are energy-efficient, draft-free, and smoke-tight. Year-round, they deliver comfortable temperatures, clean air, and greatly reduced energy use (which translates into much lower utility bills).

CAC’s Building Decarbonization Team Lead, Rob Haw, will give you a brief but thorough introduction to the Passive House, including its design features and benefits to homeowners (and the planet!).

Rob will also talk about Climate Action California's ambitions to get the PHS incorporated into California's existing building code to make it easier and less onerous for developers to adopt this approach.

The presentation will be followed by Q&A.

Thursday, June 20, 4:00 - 5:00 pm
