Petitioning at Costco - Clean Up Your Credit Card Campaign

  • Northridge Costco 8810 Tampa Avenue Northridge, CA, 91324 United States (map)

Costco is the third largest retailer in the US and it also has a credit card partnership with Citi, the world’s second largest funder of fossil fuels. This is why Third Act wants Costco to demand Citi stop financing fossil fuel expansion––or else switch to a cleaner credit card.

Almost 17,000 people including 7,900 Costco members have now told Costco to cut ties with Citi. But they want to get 30,000 overall petition signatures and 10,000 Costco members: Costco will only act if thousands of Costco members and climate-concerned community members take action. That’s why they’re going to Costco storefronts across the country.

This campaign is being led by Third Act, with partnership from 350.org, Stand Earth and Stop the Money Pipeline.

Third Act SoCal’s next Costco action will take place Saturday, November 18, from 10 am to 11:30 am in Van Nuys, at 6100 Sepulveda Blvd. You'll get to have fun, relaxed conversations with a lot of your neighbors about why Citibank is not the best partner for Costco on their credit card, and we'll also be asking them to sign a petition to Costco asking them to switch their credit card to one that doesn't fund fossil fuel companies. If you want to participate, please sign up by clicking here.

Before attending, you might want to review the training video.
