Third Act SoCal will be holding another petition-signing Costco event at the Marina del Rey Costco. Costco needs a new partner on their credit card, because Citibank is responsible for a wide range of fossil fuel investments. You and any friends or family you want to bring along with you are invited to join them to make some “good noise” on behalf of our planet’s health!
Additional Background
Costco is the third largest retailer in the US and it also has a credit card partnership with Citi, the world’s second largest funder of fossil fuels. This is why Third Act wants Costco to demand Citi stop financing fossil fuel expansion––or else switch to a cleaner credit card.
Almost 17,000 people including 7,900 Costco members have now told Costco to cut ties with Citi. But they want to get 30,000 overall petition signatures and 10,000 Costco members: Costco will only act if thousands of Costco members and climate-concerned community members take action. That’s why they’re going to Costco storefronts across the country.
This campaign is being led by Third Act, with partnership from 350.org, Stand Earth and Stop the Money Pipeline.
Before attending, you might want to review the training video.
