Stream the interview below.
Our July chapter call featured a presentation on why artificial turf is a climate and biodiversity issue and an interview with Terry Saucier, Chair of the Stop Artificial Turf Task Force, a coalition that includes Climate Reality Project’s Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley Chapters, the LA Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance, and other partners. The task force educates the public and officials about the many negative impacts of artificial turf on our health, environment and local wildlife. The Coalition supports a ban on all new installations of artificial turf and a transition to planting California native plants and grasses.
Currently efforts are focused on working with Councilmember Bob Blumenfield’s Office (District 3) to support the recent artificial turf motion CF 24-0602.
Terry has served on her Neighborhood Council for more than 8 years, is a member of the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance, and is on the leadership team for the Climate Reality Project, San Fernando Valley Chapter.
