2040: Online Film Screening

Join the City of Santa Monica's Office of Sustainability & the Environment and Sustainable Works for a FREE online screening of director Damon Gameau's 'exercise in fact-based dreaming', 2040. The film takes a solutions-based approach to how we can, using the technology we already have, mitigate the enormous global issues we currently face. It's a story of hope, and a powerful tool to encourage people to take action.

The main themes/solutions looked at in the film are around: empowerment of women and girls; marine regeneration; regenerative agriculture; renewable energy; and circular economy. It's a story of hope, and a powerful tool to encourage people to take action. You can watch the trailer here.

A panel discussion with the film's Writer/Director Damon Gameau and Paul Hawken, environmentalist, entrepreneur, activist and founder and author of Project Drawdown, will follow the screening. Sarah Spitz, UC Master Gardener, Los Angeles County will moderate the panel.
