At The Climate Reality Project Los Angeles Chapter, We Fight For The Future We Want
Climate change is a reality, it’s here and the impacts are becoming more and more serious for us and our families. In our home state of California, we are already grappling with frequent heat waves, wildfires, droughts, intensifying rain and wind events, increasing air pollution, threats to our beautiful coastline and marine species due to sea level rise, erosion, salinity, and warming waters, and much more. Our health, our livelihoods, our SoCal way of life are at stake. But instead of giving in or giving up, we are giving it all we have to fight for the future we want. The good news is that we are having success. We are changing hearts and minds, we are changing policy, we are changing our city and state for the better. In other words, WHAT WE DO MATTERS.
WE EDUCATE
WE GIVE CLIMATE PRESENTATIONS
Part of our purpose as Climate Leaders is to go out into the greater Los Angeles area and give customized multimedia presentations (in person or online) on the reality of climate change, its impacts, and HOW WE SOLVE IT. We visit businesses, schools, community groups, places of worship, libraries, organizations, and more.
WE ACTIVATE
WE TAKE ACTION
Leading the LAUSD initiative to go 100% renewable energy. Planting hundreds of trees. Advocating for green buildings. Rallying to stop the use of fossil fuels. Advocating for strong climate policy. Partnering with officials and organizations to make a difference. All these and more are what we are accomplishing to BE THE CHANGE.
